From hearty soups, melt-in-your-mouth breads, savoury casseroles and jumbo sandwiches to stomach stretching healthy meat, potato and vegetable meals, nobody leaves the table hungry. Oh ... would I dare forget to mention the desserts? Make sure to leave some room for Bachelor Button cookies, Queen Elizabeth cakes and Rhubarb pies. Ohhh, my belly ... And for teen boys? They just seem to have a hollow leg. But it is good to watch them grow and develop into young men. It seems I can prepare a chicken dinner with dressing, potatoes and all the fixings, serve it and within an hour of devouring it, my boys are asking for a snack. They can just eat and eat and eat.

That's why I like my Mennonite Amish Recipes. All the foods can be prepared with common items from the grocery store or produce from the garden when it's in season. Buying in bulk also helps with the budget. Sometimes I'll cook a larger quantity and freeze some for later or if I'm short on time. Or if visitors show up on short notice, knowing there is a casserole or something in the freezer, keeps the stress level down.

I really enjoy my recipes from Countryside Mennonite Fellowship. They just printed a new one with the best recipes from the church families. Countryside Cooking, Countryside Christmas Favourites and Passing Along More Countryside Favourtites are filled with home cooking recipes to reach the heart of any man. Mennonite recipes are healthy and hearty, easy to make, much like Amish recipes. Click Mennonite recipes or Amish recipes to inspect the cookbooks. I suggest you get all three. If you don't want them for yourself, they make a great gift.

Till next time, YUM!
